Homer, after completing a race organized by Milhouse, receives a call on his cell phone from Marge Simpson; He must come home to do her a favor. Homer, after arriving home and fulfilling a favor for Marge about taking Lisa's mail to the mail delivery building, arrives at his job, but does it wrong and is fired from the nuclear plant. He was sadly driving home, but on the way Homer is amazed to see Cletus' car, he wants to have it no matter what, but not before fulfilling his favors. But when he did so and arrived at Cletus' house, he was suspiciously leaving his house with a woman in his car, and after following him, you won't believe what Homer Simpson found and saw! ๐Ÿ˜จ๐Ÿ˜ฑ
Help Homer complete each of his impulsive decisions after seeing that horrible moment, which will lead him to legal trouble and break the dignity of Bart, Lisa and Maggie forever! ๐Ÿ˜”

Features:
  • You can control Homer Simpson and Cletus for a single mission!๐Ÿง”
  • The atmosphere is daytime. โ˜€
  • It is a campaign mod that has 5 missions; an optional but important mission to understand the story, a clandestine event mission and 4 main missions. ๐Ÿค‘๐Ÿคฏ
  • The mod uses the level 1 map, and partially uses the level 2 map for some missions. โ˜€โ›…
  • The characters have such an impressive 3D cartoon effect (Cell shading), on a level similar to "The Simpson Game"! ๐Ÿ˜Ž
  • Throughout the story, SHAR cutscenes are mainly 3D and real-time, meaning FMV cutscenes are very rarely shown in the mod. ๐Ÿ˜ฒ
  • The main menu and important interiors are improved thanks to the brightness, and new interiors such as the police station are included. ๐Ÿ‘ฎโ€โ™‚๏ธ
  • Some new song added, but maintaining the characteristic essence of SHAR. ๐ŸŽถ๐ŸŽต
  • Excellent custom animations in character conversations in missions. ๐Ÿ•บ๐Ÿ’ƒ
  • Some graphics enhanced with brightness, such as objects, interiors. ๐Ÿ˜‰
  • Some characters changed their appearance like Skinner and other new ones like the Robot Wiggum, who are present for the sake of the plot. ๐Ÿค–
  • Some unused GAGS were restored and improved here! โ˜บ
  • The mod works in Spanish, German and French languages (they are not translated anyway) ๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ‡ธ ๐Ÿ‡ซ๐Ÿ‡ท ๐Ÿ‡ฉ๐Ÿ‡ช
  • It features a street mission with an Italian mobster, who tries to... Wrestling! But instead of fighting another character, you'll ride on large floating objects, a large tree, to Kirby's island, hitting up to 20 WASP CAMERAS! ๐Ÿ˜ˆ๐ŸฅŠ๐Ÿ By paying 100 coins, you'll earn 300 coins if you manage to complete this fight. ๐Ÿ’ฒ๐Ÿค‘
  • Some animations and 3D models were used that did not make it out of the SHAR source code, including dialogue animations and "FMV" 3D models. ๐Ÿ‘พ
  • And many more!๐Ÿ’Ž

What has changed in each version?:
Spoiler
Version 1.2 (02/10/24)
  • Fixed the bug where if you enter the mission "The End", the game would crash. Now shows a few seconds of Cletus and his adopted sons working in the fields and then the credits. ๐Ÿค ๐ŸŒพ
  • Mission 0: Added 17 seconds more time to the street race. ๐Ÿโณ Changed the text and cover at the end of the mission, congratulating you for winning an illegal race. ๐Ÿโ€ผ Fixed the bug where racing music was not looped and would go silent after playing for a while ๐Ÿ”Šโœ”
  • Mission 1: Added 2 seconds more were added to the time to return to the car after discovering Marge and Cletus' act. โณ
  • Mission 2: If you return after escaping the school, you will have a red marker that slowly fills up while you receive insults from Agnes Skinner. ๐Ÿ‘ต๐Ÿ’ข๐Ÿ—ฏ Fixed a bit the AI โ€‹โ€‹waypoints that the police cars take you to without you having control. ๐Ÿš“๐ŸŒƒ
  • Mission 3: Added black outline to the inside of the level 2 police station. ๐Ÿ˜Ž
  • Mission 4: The ways to enter the phone booths have been "blocked". ๐Ÿ“ž โŒ New dialogue animations have been added between Cletus and Brockman. โœจ And their conversation has been changed from a long and boring chat, to a clumsy and comical chat where Brockman constantly interrupts Cletus. ๐Ÿคฃ

  • Interface: The interface of the progress level section was changed, where the statistics have Homer's colors and is more visually attractive! ๐Ÿ’—๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿค
  • Emails: The "Creator's Mail" was replaced by Clancy Wiggum's letter, where he tells of his resignation and being replaced by a robot for the job. ๐Ÿ“จ
  • Fixed a text error found in phone booths regarding the residual texts from the mystery mod, in the "Speed" and "Stability" part โœ”

Remember, if you see or notice an error in the mod, you can report it here in the comments, or on the Donut Team Discord server (Both without going too far), I'm more attentive in those places. That is all, Goodbye! ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ‘‹
This sounds really interesting! I can't wait to see what this mod will be like soon when it comes out!
This mod looks very interesting, it will be worth the wait :D
Echoing what was stated before me, the initial premise sounds pretty interesting and I'm liking what the screenshots show off so far! While I am aware that the Cel-Shaded models for the characters that the mod is using aren't anything new, I still think the effect they have looks pretty good. Liking the other stuff you've created before being utilized as well with the more complete Simpsons Household interior. I'm also really interested to see how the new dialog stages will look in motion. Not a whole lot of mods I can think of from the top of my head really played with a whole lot of custom animations alongside custom scenery like in the screenshots provided (a black void). It definitely seems pretty cool for cinematic purposes when framed correctly! It's definitely very unique on that front.

Perhaps a silly question, but I am noticing through the screenshots provided that some of the models present (Principal Skinner and Robo-Wiggum) use the new Cel-Shaded style as well. These characters are actually not currently in the model pack from the older forum post. Is there a plan to go back and potentially add these new characters as well to this pack for those who want to use them? I really quite like the style and would love to see if that can encourage use of it elsewhere. I had also briefly experimented with using them in Frink-ality (as long as I'm still breathing that thing is technically alive - I had an update I wanted to share but stalled on writing that document). Having a more rounded off set would be lovely for such a case.

I also think increasing the color saturation/brightness of the textures present in the Level might allow for the characters to more seamlessly blend in with the environment. I think while the new cel-shaded style looks wonderful, the textures look a bit darker compared to the new model edits. Are there plans to perhaps look into modifying those? I think it would give the mod a more unique identity in addition to helping with making the world feel more natural.

The model posing you did for the teaser banner is also pretty great too. I'd be okay with the Mission Banners perhaps using that over the AI art seen in the Mission Briefing. Are there plans to replace all of those outright and is Milhouse's Street Race Banner just a placeholder in this scenario, or is that likely going to be left as-is?

Are there also any plans to return to the older 'Mystery' mod you shared a little while back? I understand if there are no plans to return to it.

Interested to see where this goes, regardless!
Hi Kenny, sorry if it took me a while to respond to your message, I've been a little busy lately. ๐Ÿ˜…

That's a very good question, Kenny! If this new cell shading effect would be placed in this pack, of course they will be in after the release of this amazing mod, as I have seen people who have loved it and want to use it for their mods. ๐Ÿ˜€

I had also briefly experimented with using them in Frink-ality. Having a more rounded off set would be lovely for such a case.
I can imagine how using my Cell-Shading package with your mod turned out, it must have looked great! ๐Ÿ˜‰

I plan to do it before finishing the development of the story, since I have improved the main thing, and improving the textures of the maps will be my last objective before finishing ๐Ÿ˜Š

The model posing you did for the teaser banner is also pretty great too.

Thanks, if I think you are referring to the image of the mod, it is a nice reference to the cover of the movie called "Casablanca" from 1942, although in this mod, there is no happy family in case you ask ๐Ÿค”

Are there plans to replace all of those outright and is Milhouse's Street Race Banner just a placeholder in this scenario, or is that likely going to be left as-is?
Maybe I will leave the mission posters as they are, except for missions 2, 3, 4, and 5, there will be new mission posters, but with the known SHAR style adapted to my way ๐Ÿ™‚

Are there also any plans to return to the older 'Mystery' mod you shared a little while back? I understand if there are no plans to return to it.
Thanks for reminding me of that mysterious mod. ๐Ÿ˜ง
I have stopped its development when starting this mod, but it was not canceled at any time, I am going to pick it up and complete it once and for all, once this development of Lisa's email is finished. Maybe not with the dialogue system, but I would use AI voices for the characters, which fits much better. ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

I think I have answered your questions, the most important ones for me. You have a good afternoon ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ–
And about the Springfield map? From โ€˜The Simpsons Gameโ€™ for Xbox 360/PS3, do you have any news or has development stopped?

Its development is stopped. It is not possible to port the map from TSG to SHAR on my own, without the help of other people ๐Ÿ˜–
Really cool mod! I remember your first mods ages ago but this one is very ambitious! Can tell a lot of effort went into this and it has some really cool ideas, lots of fun to play. Keep it up :)
Some really good ideas in here. Custom animations and interiors are looking good. Some rough edges but like Josh said some really good ideas and some things ive certainly never seen before. Looking forward to your next piece ))

This is fantastic.
