The Simpsons: Hit & Run Remastered

A foolish YouTuber has pushed the term 'remaster' to its very limits and updated the visuals for Level 1 of The Simpsons: Hit & Run to try and match the style of the show.

Featuring:
  • Updated textures
  • Small bugfixes
  • '3D' grass
After discovering the wonderful world of Hit & Run mods a few years ago, I've always wanted to try updating the game's visuals and bring them more in line with how the show itself looks. So since the beginning of the year I've been slowly chipping away at the game's textures, updating references, fixing a few faults and even throwing in some new grass. It's limited to just Level 1 for now as a first go but I'm sure it will be something I'll want to continue in the future and tackle more of the maps. Is this really a remaster? Not really, there's lots missing after all. But for the sake of quickly explaining my goal, it seemed like the best choice.

I documented this project over the course of three videos on my YouTube channel if you are interested in watching it unfold, and to understand my thought processes behind some of the changes. If not, go right ahead and download the mod to enjoy ~5 minutes of gameplay in a brand new look!

Once again a big thank you to all the mod tool creators - there's no way I would have tried this without them! Special thanks to Josh / Proddy for offering to help with LUA scripting (maybe in the future I'll actually use it!)

Awesome Mod MuckLuck
Hello!
The textures look really great, it makes the game shine. I saw the textures mostly work on the first level with Homer, not sure if the other levels were covered as well.

I'm also loving another mod called "Fully Connected Map: Full Game Plus (Release 1.0)", I wanted to ask you if it was possible to use your textures with that mod since they give a compatibility error in the launcher... or, if possible, how could I add them to that mod?
Amazing work with the textures!
has anyone come across the issue when using lucas mod launcher to load the mod it freezes at the end of the loading screen and doesn't actually load the game. it stays liek this for a few minutes then crashes. possibly something i have done wrong.
