I found all the dialogue MP3s and ran them through Whisper AI to get the text. Whisper kept screwing up names though, like calling Apu "Appu" lol.

I found all the dialogue MP3s and ran them through Whisper AI to get the text. Whisper kept screwing up names though, like calling Apu "Appu" lol.
I used the "Proof of Concept" mod as a starting point since it already had custom dialogue boxes working. Basically reverse-engineered how their MFK scripts trigger text and built on top of that.
Made a custom d3d8.dll that hooks the game's audio - when a dialogue plays, it shows the matching subtitle. Got the MP3 durations with PowerShell so timing is perfect.
Subtitles show up as a semi-transparent black box with white text that types out letter-by-letter (update, not showed yet). No installation, just drop the files in.
Only did Level 1 so far (141 lines). 6 more levels to go but it works perfectly now!
