Worried About My Role Here in the Community Right Now

Hello, I am OggySimpsonsFan333. To be honest, there are times where I get stressed or struggle in the community, whenever I sometimes worry that my mods are disliked or I am hated. This is because I try my best to make my mods perfect because I love making project and I care about the community.

It is just that I am worried about TSHAR: The Reimagined Project right now and since it was dispublished right now, I am worried because I tried to make the textures perfect and I had reasons why I added extra stuff to the mod. I just wanted the mod to feel like an expansion pack remaster. I failed and instead I found out that there were hacks that were not needed and some textures were still not right. I will still do my SpongeBob mod, which I think will be better.

To be honest, ever since The Simpsons: Hit & Run: Remastered was added to the Mod Bakery as well as my project getting criticized, I started to regret making TSHAR: The Reimagined Project a little bit but I didn't want it to go to waste so I had to get it out on the Mod Bakery since I worked on the mod starting in September 2025. Also, I am not sure if I am going to remaster the other levels. I might only do level 1 and then cancel the project after because it wasn't going that well for the community in my view. I think Muckluck's mod, Fat Tony: Springfield is Yours, Donut Mod, Futurama: Hit & Run, Annoy Squidward, and many other mods are better. I tried my best.

Also, sometimes I feel like my mods don't get the amount of care other mods have, which makes me left out (not being jealous as I appreciate others having their mods being cared more). Luckily I am moving to my SpongeBob: Hit & Run mod, which will be a lot better. Luckily I will be what makes it me. I can still take criticism so if any problems are spotted, I can fix them in my time for you. So therethore, after Level 1, I don't think I want to develop the Reimagined Project anymore after due to this. Sorry if this upsets anyone but the project is making me struggle.

I hope you guys are doing okay. I understand how you all feel about me right now and I try to make things right. I want to be mature and nice for all of you. Hopefully TSHAR: The Reimagined Project is fixed soon. However, since Muckluck's mod exists, my mod feels pointless, which is why I am cancelling it after one level. If I get a really bad burnout from my other mods, I might either have a break or leave.

However, it's just life and life can be unfair and we have to all deal with it.

The strongest mods in this community didn’t succeed because they tried to compete. They succeeded because the creator had a clear vision and kept refining it over time. They learned from criticism instead of taking it as a sign to pivot to something new. There are mods that are technical messes, but the creator clearly put in a ton of effort and care because they believed in their vision and didn't just follow existing trends and tropes.

If you believe in what you're doing, then do it - but you need to understand what you're doing because otherwise it will result in a worse experience. One recent example was your mod was requiring XInput. Frankly, when we noticed that, we realized that we should actually prevent that from being possible. Requiring XInput does nothing but break controller support for some users. This is not me attacking you, it's an example of why slowing down and understanding the impact of each choice matters.

Jumping from project to project because the last one didn't get the reaction you hoped for can stall your growth. It can prevent you from truly taking in the constructive criticism that people have given you because you're always chasing what will get clicks and attention. You don't get the deep learning that comes from iterating on one thing long enough to really master it. Donut Mod has been in development for 13 years, and I think we all would love to have it done, but the iteration and the learning that we've done over that time has made us better developers and in turn has helped create a better mod.

Ask yourself: are you making mods to express something you care about, or to feel validated? I hope if you continue to work on these projects, you take some time to research the choices you're making. Focus on individual components first, get feedback on those components and then iterate. Once you've finished a component, move on to the next.

I am making mods because I also had clear vision. I had creative ideas for the community to enjoy. I tried to take criticism. The Reimagined Project will also be cancelled due to massive texture burnout and to make Muckluck's mod feel more useful. The mod will also be decompilable for other users to use.
However, I understand what you said Fluffy and I will try my best to improve.
