Mini-Mod Contest: Spooktacular Motors - October 2025

Please sign in to reply to this topic.

Introduction

Hello there, Donut Team community!
For the past few months I had a project in development, that I had planned to release in time for Halloween. Due to unfortunate factors, the project is taking longer than I expected.
Fear not though, as I plan to release it in time for next year's Halloween - and you have the chance to contribute!
I am willing to offer a chance to a few (max 3) lucky people to join the development of this mod, hence this contest.
For details regarding the mod, check the link below!

Contest

Theme

This contest will obviously be Halloween themed. What I am looking for, is 3 Halloween vehicles:
  • A player vehicle
  • An AI vehicle
  • A traffic vehicle

Each type of vehicle entry will have its own rules, however most of them will also abide by the same rules.

Rules

To share an entry, please reply to this post with one or two links to your entries.
Each participant is allowed to list a maximum of two (2) entries. This means if you share more than two, I will only consider the first two.

General entry:
  • You must publish your mod on the Mod Bakery or on the forums.
  • You must be in the Donut Team Discord Server (so that I can easily communicate/reach out)
  • You must share images of your vehicles on their mod page.
  • You must publish ONE vehicle per entry/mod.
  • Your mod must be published AFTER 25 October. (Just so everybody has the same chances)
  • Your vehicle must look like it is part of the game. Keep Radical's style in mind.
  • Your vehicle must be more than a simple retexture. Retextures are allowed, however you must be original.
  • Your mod must contain everything required for the vehicle to be considered a new car and not a replacement.
  • Stick to the theme. Vehicles must be spooky, badass, or Halloween-themed at first glance.

Player vehicle entry:
  • Your vehicle must be unique, and must feel fun to drive.
  • IF your vehicle fits this category, you must include (at least) one clown-related accessory.
  • Retexture rules are stricter here. If you're making a retexture, add a fun gimmick (e.g., ghost particles, flames, etc.).

AI vehicle entry:
  • Give it personality. Make it scary, make it look like a bad guy.
  • Make it easy to use for AI. AI vehicles must be properly configured to avoid flying off the map.

Traffic vehicle entry:
  • Your vehicle must not be a 1:1 copy of another traffic vehicle. Tweak textures or models to make it unique.
  • It can be a van, SUV, hearse, etc. Citizen or commercial vehicles are allowed.
  • Make it spooky!

Bonus:
  • If your (AI/Player) vehicle has a custom character/driver, it might have higher chances of being selected.
  • The more unique your vehicle is, the better your chances.
  • Vehicles that fit within the game's style will have the highest chances.
  • Phonebooth images aren't necessary, but can improve chances (Player vehicles only).

Conclusion

So what are you waiting for? Get out there & spookify your rides.
If you have any questions, please contact me in the Donut Team Discord Server mentioned above.

Results

With there being just enough people (only 2 lol) for each, @WolfieCody550's Monster Planet Hype Truck and @Ettore12's Krusty's Halloween Curator will both be featured in my mod.
It would be unfair to do a ranking based on just two entries, so tied place for both.

@OggySimpsonsFan333

That's a nice car, however all entries must be published after 25 October, so anybody interested can the same chances!

Sorry about that.

Nothing to be sorry about!

Hi Maz! as you know, we also talked about it yesterday on Discord, and I intended to finish the whole mod over the weekend, working hard. I may want to post it on Halloween, both on the Forum and on the Mod Bakery (for the Mod Bakery I have yet to have access)

Hi, feel free to post any time between 25 and 31.

Okay
Yo, just a real quick question before I fully understand:

Even though I understand the rules, and that I'm already making my vehicle, I want to know something about the driver... Does it matter if the custom driver we add is in the style Radical does it, or is it okay to use character materials from other games, as long as they have unique details?

@WolfieCody550

Yes, the driver should be in Radical's style.
You may use TSG models if the character is someone from The Simpsons that isn't in Shar however. (They will eventually be replaced with a shar-ified version if that's the case)
