When you kick a NPC or a tree for example, how close you have to be to the object for it to react to your kick, is it dependent on the hitbox of your character, or some other factor, like a parameter in the game's code?

I've downloaded all Donut Mods and run them through Lucas Mod Launcher. Gameplay is there, all the changes, however theres no one to to talk to to start a mission in none of the levels , also no wasp cameras at all. Is it perhaps a setting or something i can change?
